Grown in Season
We don't force the harvest. Satsumas ripen in late fall, pecans come down in early winter — and that's when we pick them. Seasonal growing means better flavor, every time.

Three generations of growing something worth sharing.
The Battiste family has been farming in Southwest Alabama along Old Pascagoula Road for generations. What started as a small grove of satsuma and pecan trees planted by our grandparents grew into something we couldn't keep to ourselves — so we started sharing it with neighbors, then with anyone who wanted a taste of what real, tree-ripened citrus and pecans is supposed to be.
We grow satsuma mandarin oranges and raise pecan trees on the same land our family has worked for decades. There's no warehouse and no middleman sitting between you and the harvest. When you order from us, you're getting satsumas and pecans picked at peak ripeness and packed by the same hands that grew them.

Every tree on our property is cared for by family. We know each grove, each variety, and exactly when things are ready. That personal attention shows up in the quality.
No fancy packaging, no inflated prices. Just good fruit and good nuts, priced fairly and sold direct. We'd rather you come back every season than impress you once.
Satsuma mandarin oranges thrive in the Gulf Coast climate — the warm summers and mild winters of coastal Alabama are practically made for them. Our trees produce fruit that's seedless, easy to peel, and bursting with a sweetness you won't find in grocery store citrus.
We harvest from November through January. The window is short, which is part of what makes them special. When satsuma season comes around, people who know come back for bags at a time.
Our pecan trees are old-growth, deep-rooted, and patient. We crack and sort every pecan by hand right here on the farm — no machines, no shortcuts. What you get are clean halves and pieces that taste the way pecans are supposed to taste.
We offer halves for snacking and gift boxes, and pieces that are perfect for pies, pralines, and anything else you're baking. Harvest runs October through December.
We're proud of what we grow and we love when people come out to the farm. Whether you order online or stop by in person, you're getting something grown with care and sold with honesty. That's the Battiste way.
